Step 1
The first step to using Play candles is always a discussion between partners.
Determine what you like and do not like.
What are your expectations? Goals? Have you discussed safe words, after care plans and plans for if medical incidents occur?
Candles can be used in many ways, from relaxing sore muscles, to an intimate form of trust exchange.
Each experience will be unique!
Step 2
Next step is to create a safe environment to work with candles.
Start by finding a safe, comfortable area for you and your partner to be.
If desired place a mat or sheet down to catch any wax that may fall. this can help with cleanup later on.
Caution: You will be working with open flames and around smoke. Make sure you are in a well ventilated area clear of any flammable objects.
Finally set your candles and massage bars (if using them) on a flat non-flammable surface within reach.
Step 3
Your now all set up!
We recommend using our massage wax or something similar as a base coat. This warms up the skin, initiates physical contact, and creates a small barrier for the skin to reduce sensitivity.
Light your candles and allow to sit for up to two minutes at most, until wax starts to run/pool

Step 4
Time to start pouring!
Start by testing the temperature over a less sensitive area like your arm to ensure the candle is not too hot. Our candles are specially formulated to be low temperature, but you are still using open flames. It will get hot if left for to long, particularly our predicament candles.
Safety of yourself and partners is paramount, always monitor your temperatures!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hold the candle approximately 12 inches/ 30 cm away from the skin and allow a small stream to flow onto the skin. this should feel warm but not too sharp.
You are now ready to PLAY!
Final Step
The final step is to explore and have fun!
Move the candles closer to the skin or further away to adjust the temperature.
Try body mapping (slowly tracing the body and limbs) to find more and less sensitive areas.
Try making fun designs or patterns. Color in tattoos.
For even more fun try out Predicament Carnations and challenge your partner not to squirm before the wax starts to run.

Some Final Warnings
When playing with candles there is always a possibility of getting burned. whether this is by pooling too much hot wax in a single spot, or touching the open flame. Burns happen. Always be sure to provide proper medical care for burns.
Always have cool water or burn gel on hand as a precaution.
Finally all wax is for external use only. Do not apply to oraffices, broken skin, or genitalia.
